We had our first drop-in at TTA on the 21st of November and it was great to get an opportunity to chat to a few people, but just how important is it to relationally connect to people? During Covid 19, the government restriction of temporary isolation was, in my opinion, necessary. However, the effect that it had on many people cannot be understated. Even the most robust of individuals during the second lockdown, were perhaps for the first time, experiencing a sense of disconnect and emotional strain.
Yet, for many what most of us experienced during Covid, many had already experienced as part of everyday life. That is why it is critical that post-Covid we do not forget how we feel because, for many, life does not simply return to normal, but the continue to experience what they had all along, a sense of loneliness and isolation. Let us not forget what Jesus said, "love your neighbour as yourself," Time to practice what he preached.
